The lowest international callback rates, up to 80 percent savings towards your local PTT. According to their website, voice prompts offered in ten languages and speed dial availability up to 99 numbers gives users an advantage. Calls appear to be routed over the net, thus we review them here.
We did not see a soft phone from this carrier, nor did we see a pc-to-phone offer. Itemized bills for long distance international calls are mailed to customers every month. Calls are billed on 30 second minimum and 6 second increments but only for completed calls. In addition there are no monthly charges or minimums.
Dial your assigned access number (DID) taking into account that the access number (DID) is located in the USA, so you have to dial as if calling the USA from your country. If you are calling to the USA, then you should dial 1 + area code + number, e.g. if you are calling the Manhattan area, you should dial 1 + 212 + xxx-xxxx. For another example, if you are calling Paris you should dial: 011 + 33+ 1+ xxx-xxxx.
Westel claims their CallBack rates are subject to change every few months while they have a mission to constantly lower their rates and maintain their lead as the lowest cost international call provider. In 5 years they have never raised their rates and have lowered them hundreds of times.
