Adore Softphone lets clients make pc to phone, web to phone and pc-to-pc calls using the service provider's gateway. It provides excellent call quality and versatility with it's easy and powerful Phone Features
Adore also claims to have a free downloadable SIP proxy server. We haven't tested their server but it should run well on any Nix platform if their soft phone is any indication.
Asterisk is a complete software driven PBX and is available at Adore's website and many other locations around the net. Sometimes vendors offer a modified version of Asterisk to work with their product. Asterisk run on Unix platforms.
